We warmly invite you to visit us as we gather for worship, for discussion, for business or to socialize. No matter who you are or where you’re headed in your spiritual or life journey, you are welcome here.
The Kalamazoo Friends Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends, or Kalamazoo Friends Meeting, is the Quaker congregation in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It is affiliated with Green Pastures Quarterly Meeting, Lake Erie Yearly Meeting, and Friends General Conference.
Every Sunday morning, we meet for a First-Hour Discussion, followed by a silent Meeting for Worship. First Hour Discussions are held on a variety of meaningful topics that connect to our Quaker faith. Discussions may focus on passages from the Bible, Quaker ideals such as simplicity, or what we as Quakers can do about problems such as climate change and racism. Meeting for Worship is a silent, "unprogrammed" hour of meditation, held to reveal God's light inside of all of us. We also hold discussion and worship virtually, using Zoom.
The Kalamazoo Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends declares itself to be an Open and Affirming group, welcoming to people of all gender identities and sexual orientations. We seek always to heal the separations caused by intolerance, to recognize the diversity of humanity, and to live in an ever more loving and peaceful association with our fellow human beings.
